Public Housing Program

SIRHA has duplexes, apartments, and houses available for rent to qualified families. One, two, three, and four bedroom units are available for families with one bedroom units designated for the elderly or disabled.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is available in all 13 counties in SIRHA’s service area. Families are responsible for locating a unit that is eligible for the program. The family will pay rent to the landlord based on 30 percent of the family’s monthly adjusted gross income.

The Family Self Sufficiency Program is designed to help Section 8 families to obtain economic independence and achieve self-sufficiency. The great thing about this program is that the Housing Authority establishes and maintains a SAVINGS ACCOUNT for the family.

We currently own 109 subsidized rental units in 5 housing complexes. The units are electric. The water, sewer, and trash are included in payment. They provide off street parking and have laundry facilities at the complexes.
