Public Housing Program

SIRHA has duplexes, apartments and houses available for rent to qualified families. One, two, three and four bedroom units are available for families with one bedroom units designated for the elderly or disabled.

The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is available in all 13 counties in SIRHA’s service area. Families are responsible for locating a unit that is eligible for the program. The family will pay rent to the landlord based on between 30 to 40 percent of the family’s gross monthly adjusted income.

The Family Self Sufficiency Program is designed to help our Section 8 families to obtain economic independence and achieve self sufficiency.

The great thing about this program is that the Housing Authority establishes and maintains a SAVINGS ACCOUNT for the family.

We currently own 109 subsidized rental units in 5 housing complexes. The units are electric and the water, sewer and trash are paid. They provide off street parking and laundry facilities at the complexes.
